Summer is upon us!

In just a matter of 6 more days all 5 boys will be home 24/7 all summer.  I should be the happy mom, saying yeah!  We all get to enjoy doing fun stuff together these next couple months!   I said I SHOULD be the happy mom, NOT that I AM that  happy mom.   What can I say...I know what its like living with these boys all through the school year. My only hope is not having the stress of the school routine will improve all our attitudes.  I want everyone to get along, no fights, no attitudes, no screaming, no sneaking behind mom's back and doing things they shouldn't.  I want happiness in our home, boy oh boy, do I!!! But it hasn't happened yet.  I'm sure its my fault....how does that saying go?....if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!  Well, Momma ain't happy....I'm trying to do what I am supposed to do...taking care of everyone and all their needs...but it leaves me left with emptiness and  feeling unfulfilled.  Nothing ever gets completed the way I would like it to.  Nothing stays organized, and of course, with 5 boys and a husband nothing ever stays clean......and yes, now summer is upon us!

Man Brains

Man brains....what are you talking about you might ask?  Think about it....men don't like having someone tell them what to do(especially a woman!).  Men don't like criticism(I know....who does, right?)  Men don't like someone telling them what they think they already know.   I could go on and on, but I think you're getting the picture.  I'm not man bashing....just stating what I have seen in living with 6 of the male species, one of whom is my darling hubby!  After 15 years of marriage, I am happy to say that I have learned how to say things and handle certain situations with smoothness and ease.  This helps to have a controlled conversation, instead of a full-blown argument!
Now, you would think that raising 5 boys, I would take all the above things that I have learned  into  consideration when dealing with my children.  After all, they are of the male species too.  They have "man brains" trapped inside boy bodies!
